I first decided I wanted to be a teacher when I was halfway through finishing my degree in pre-veterinary medicine. It was a big and sudden change for me, but the best choice I ever made. The reason I decided to be a teacher was because I wanted to help children discover how wonderful learning can be. I love the feeling of helping someone to understand something new, of igniting the passion to explore, and wonder.
In my classroom students will be key authors of their own education. I believe students should learn to be responsible for the things they do and the choices they make within the walls of our room. I hope to teach them how to be excited about learning, and how to work together to reach their goals.
My goals for my future in education are to travel around the globe teaching students from many culture's learning about different systems of education, and bringing that knowledge back with me to benefit educators everywhere and our students.
